Making new passport-polish citizen

Hey, validity of my passport will expire in one year.

I am planning to apply for new passport 3

Months before expiry date.

Should I be worried about anything? Poland is country with a lot of bureaucracy and in general not helpful and hostile people so making new passport can be difficult, I guess.

Anyone can share their experiences?

Edit I have DTV

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around renewing a Polish passport, particularly for individuals in Thailand. Several commenters share their experiences with the process, noting that it can often be swift and efficient if done at the embassy. Some highlights include the recommendation to apply at least six months before expiration due to travel requirements, the ease of application (which can now take about 5 minutes at the embassy), and varied personal experiences about waiting times ranging from 4-6 weeks for the passport to arrive. Tips include showing proof of travel to expedite the application and carrying both the old and new passport during the transition.

Polish ambassy in Thailand is a nightmare. Rude and bully people. But if you apply for pass in Poland you will get served by those who know who pay they wages and ypu will get your pass in 7 to 14 days.

niestety… próbowałem się zapisać na wybory, bezskutecznie. Nie odbierali telefonów, nie odpisywali na maile, totalny brak kontaktu.

Currently I am in Poland to finish some business but I will leave country in maximum one week.

I can apply for passport in Poznan or Gorzów wlkp.

There is no official statement to make make passport faster but from what from I have learned I can show tickets or booking when I will try renew my passport to speed up process.

Anyone has experience with this?

Don’t over complicate Poland is more digitized than your eyes, but indeed Poland has a lot people who complain about it just like you. Takes 5 minutes at the Embassy and 4-6 weeks to get it shipped here. 3 months is enough for passport, but not enough if you’re planning to leave Thailand and come back, you need 6 months passport validity at least.

Hey, I renewed my Polish passport at the embassy in Bangkok — no struggle, no problems at all. I’m pretty sure that if you’re on a long-term visa, you can do it as well ;)

Actually, my passport will expire in a couple of years, and I’m planning to apply for a new one about six months before it expires.

It literally takes 5 minutes to apply for a new Polish passport now. I have just done it in the consulat in BKK. Everything is digital, not even an application form required. Waiting time for passport to arrive overseas is 4-6 weeks now

Apply at least 6 months before passport expires. Most countries will require 6month validity to let you in. My Polish passport expired 2 years ago and getting a new one was a breeze, nothing like the last time I had to do it 12 years ago.
