Hey everyone! Sharing my timeline in case it helps anyone going through the same process — and hoping to hear from others who applied at the Manila embassy!

📅 May 20 – Application submitted

📋 May 22 – Additional documents requested

⏳ May 26 – Pending approval

🔍 May 27 – Pending documents check 

📋 May 28 – Additional documents requested

⏳ May 29 – Pending approval (today!)

So it's been a week and things are moving, which I take as a good sign — but the waiting is nerve-wracking! 😅

A few questions for anyone who's been through this:

👉 Did anyone else apply for the DTV Muay Thai category at the Manila embassy? What was your experience like?

👉 How long did it take from application to final approval?

👉 Is it worth contacting the embassy directly to follow up, or is it better to just wait it out?

It took around 3 weeks. Additional documents several times requested regarding gym and additional financial proof. I would not contact the Embassy unless you get stuck in the "pending document check" phase for more than 2 weeks.

Manilla takes 10 -15 business days for approval. When you submitted the additional docs the approval time is reset back to 0.

Someone I know is applying there now and the amount of additional information they want is beyond ridiculous tbh. Things like a complete list of all the gym’s trainers and their licenses, photos of the training, photos of the grounds, a super detailed description of the daily training sessions (many of which they can just check on the gym’s website but no, they want everything in pdf format 😖).

Was it the same for you, did they want all these things when they requested additional documents

yes this is usual from Manilla ( I own a muay thai gym that does dtv) but we still recommend Manilla as the thongs they ask are pretty easy to provide. We have a had a few approved there in the last few weeks.

Yes same for me I guess. They requested the following: February bank statement, class schedule from Thai boxing school and written explanation of source of income. When did the person you know applied?
