I'm working for a school that says they're waiting to apply for my teaching visa because the government has not clarified the current policy.
Can any teachers here confirm whether their schools have been been able to apply for them in recent weeks? I dont know whether this information is accurate. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Teachers are facing uncertainty regarding the application for Non-B visas due to unclear government policies. Reports indicate that while Richard Barrow's school was able to apply at the Samut Prakan Immigration office, many others have encountered barriers and have been denied the ability to switch from an amnesty status to an in-country Non-B visa. Until the government formally clarifies its policy, schools are in a holding pattern regarding visa applications.
Other than the post by Richard Barrow, who was able to get teachers from his school to go to the Samut Prakan Immigration office and apply for in country 90 day Non-B visas while they were on amnesty there have been NO verifiable reports of people being able to do it at ANY other office in the country.
In fact many, MANY people showed up at their office with documentation from their school (employer) only to be told they cannot go from amnesty to an in country Non-B visa.
SO
Your school is correct, until the government actually issues a policy stating whether they will or won't allow people on amnesty to apply for in country visas, no one can do anything but wait
