TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is seeking advice on the best visa option for a 47-year-old semi-retired self-employed landlord from the UK, with plans to return to Thailand and live there until turning 50 for a retirement visa. The community discusses several options, including the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa), which may or may not be suitable for landlords, and the LTR (Long-Term Resident) visa requiring $80,000 or equivalent passive income. The general consensus includes considerations for income qualifications and alternative ways to apply.
Question was interesting- Similar position as you, just slightly older. Agent told me that Landlord was not suitable for DTV so nice to hear that people have got one as a Landlord as seems simplest option
, I'm not trying to shoot you down in flames huh, I'm just suggesting you rephrase the question, you asked for advice and that's my advice and the question is valid
The same would apply to someone is that they make enough money to survive on importing small weapons into Israel but are interested in complying with the financial constraints of visas in Thailand. Surely it would be far better just to omit the source of the income and talk in general terms about the amount without mentioning the provenance?
an absolute clown of comment. It’s smart asses like you that stop people like me asking genuine questions with no malice or intent but you sit waiting to pounce when possible with your keyboard at the ready. Know it all.
I’m far from wealthy and I was stating my position to help get the best advise if you don’t mind. I earn nowhere near the
*****
mentioned for starters so I reject that for a start pal I’m speaking advice. I’m semi retired because I’m disabled and can no longer work so keep your presumption and judgement fir someone else
mate, as someone who struggling to find a place last time I was back in the UK I really appreciate you keeping nine rentals on the market. Hope you make it 18
I wasn’t trying to arrogant buddy. I suffered a severe brain injury at work 6 years ago was awarded money I had to invest it wisely as I can’t work anymore. It’s not arrogance I was genuinely trying to get the right info over to help get the right advice now some wet wipe has made it something it wasn’t.
, irrelevant, in a world suffering a massive housing crisis not to mention other issues like genocide, let's just stay with the housing crisis all over the world, I don't think it's a good idea to mention 8 or 9 rentals....... I guess that's what makes us different
, lol, it's ok, he asked for advice, I gave mine. I'm used to the expats abroad scene in Benidorm and the Costa brava, seen from a distance but seen very well. Would you care to point out what's wrong with my advice?
he didn’t ask you for advice about how to word his question - you make no attempt to actually help him. Hopefully you can find something more constructive to do with your time. I wish you well
