What is the best land border to re-enter Thailand after a trip to the Philippines?

Could anyone advise me? I have 1 land border run I can use this year. I have been here since November. I came on a tourist visa and have extended that to get 90 days. Plus, I used an agency to go to Cambodia and back by land to get 30 days, which I have extended again. My question is: I plan to go to the Philippines once this finishes on March 23rd for 1 month, and I plan to come back again via a land border around April 23rd. I know Don Mueang airport won’t be the best option. What country and border is best to come back through into Thailand. I plan to get a 6-month education visa once I arrive. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat planning to travel from Thailand to the Philippines seeks advice on the best land border to re-enter Thailand after their trip. They are using a tourist visa and have extended their stay multiple times. Community members suggest that land crossings from Laos are typically easier, but caution that immigration may scrutinize their history if nearing six months in Thailand on a tourist visa. Some members recommend simply flying back into Thailand from the Philippines, which could also provide additional stay extensions.

Must be a trick question Why would you enter thailand by land border crossing if you are returning from phillipines as you mentioned just enter thailand direct from phillipines by air and get 30 days than extension 30 days than border bounce for another 30days than extension 30 days

If you’re coming in from the Philippines you’ll be flying in surely ?

I don’t mind going to Laos for a few days and entering by land if it’s easier. I only need to get back in to secure my education visa. If rejected, it looks like I am going back to the UK for a few months and have to pay for my condo while I’m not here, also a flight home and back, which is not ideal.

I’m sure the easiest way is to fly direct to Thailand 👍

I have a very questionable visa history and have never had problems at Don Mueang..

It is up to immigration on the day. If you are on a tourist visa when you arrive they will look at how long you have been in Thailand in the past 12 months. If it is close to 6 months they will start asking questions and more likely to refuse entry.

I am scared 😱

If you crossed in November 2023, it was last year, you have the right to cross twice by land in 2024 and as many times as you want by air

nobody has the right to cross anywhere. Totally up to the immigration officer processing your entry. Land crossings are restricted to a maximum of 2 per annum

@ລາວນາທຶນ ******
*as many times as immigration will allow you to

si vous restez dans les règles, vous pouvez rester et traverser le temps que vous voulez. C’est logique pour moi. Je ne voyais pas l’intérêt de préciser.

Typically the Laos border crossings seem to be the “easiest”.

is there a specific border or are they all relatively less strict ?

Nong Khai and Mukdahan are a piece of cake (with no proof of funds or wtv ever asked). I've crossed these border a lot in the last 12 years.

Not familiar with the borders there. I just see from posts on here that they seem to be “less strict”.
