What is the best way to re-enter Thailand after a long stay on a NON-O ED visa to avoid immigration issues?

Hello everyone

I am going back home to Europe for a couple of months and then come back to Thailand on Visa exempt.

Because I have been accumulating a couple of covid visas and now I am on NON-O ED extension, I would want to minimise the chances of being questioned by Thai immigration on my way back in.

What would you consider to be the best route for me to come back to Thailand this year.

By flight from Europe to Laos and then land crossing possibly using a agent for vip entry, maybe?

I thank you guys

and ask them about VIP entry (they offer at Bangkok and Phuket).

They'll ask you about what's in your passport from the past and tell you a price. The worse your history, the higher the price. But just getting a price should be easy enough so you know what you're dealing with.

Yes fly into Laos or a better option would be Vietnam or Cambodia (there are more flights than to Laos) and enter Thailand by land. Malaysia is an option too BUT avoid Aranyaprathet (opposite Poipet, Cambodia) and Padang Besar or Sadao on the Malaysian border as these 3 can be strict.

I can recommend you change passport first and pay money 8500 baht for agency and enter to Thailand from Suvarnabhumi.Because u stayed very very long time In Thailand in One time.

only more possible.But not guaranteed same.But that time agency accepts u and make it guaranteed

Out of Bangkok to Cambodia; Thaivisaservice they screen you first to see if they can help. 2 per calendar year allowed with this group.

if u dont change passport no agency accepts you.Then first you should change passport.Second you talk with agency

Yes i understand, thanks.

Why do say: First change passport AND also pay service to an agency?

You say both things should be done. I believe one of the two should be enough, don't you think?

Matteo wants to enter with guaranteed entry.With this current passport nobody and no agency will accept him.
Incognia **********
@Brandon ***********
i understand what u are saying but agencies wont accept it.He can try himself and it is not guaranteed.

every land border is not equal. Laos borders usually fine even with terrible history. Cambodia borders suck even with good history, especially Poipet.

@Mma ******
you are thinking regardless of your previous history then nothing to talk with you.U dont know anything about Thailand Immigration then.According to my 15 years experiences(used many type of visas)change passport and enter from suvarnabhumi.No need to go Laos(if u go just for enter thailand).Use agent.Next time make proper visafor staying long term.Otherwise she or he will be denied with red stamp.Good luck to him or her

dont forget he didnt mention VOLUNTEER Visa In his passport.Totally different.
Incognia **********
@Matteo **********
Because u have previous volunteer visa in your history.Probably will be problem if u land by yourself
Incognia **********
@Matteo **********
he doesnt have volunteer in passport.Totally different.Agencies wont accept your passport with volunteer stamp.
Incognia **********
@Mma ******
u have covid extensions not Volunteer visa.Totally different
Incognia **********
@Mma ******
change passport better.Agency they dont accept if u have volunteer visa in your passport.

Actually to be more precise I have the volunteer visa, 2 covids extensions and one ED extension. It's quite a lot. Now going to Europe for minimum two months. I have been thinking about changing the passport actually, but after reading your reply now, maybe I won't.

He's not going to change passports, that's ridiculous. Then pay 8,500 for agent to re-enter at BKK Airport. Your plan to enter via Laos with an agent should be fine. 'Generally' you get 2 land border entries per calendar year - regardless of your previous history. I had a TR visa and 5 covid extensions and used an agent to do a land bounce, no problems whatsoever.

To pay an agency for what? If I'm arriving at the airport. You can pay an agency if you like

If you are on an Ed extension why are you not learning ? They will probably pull you aside and ask some serious questions on return.

45 days entry at this stage stops on the 31st of march so make sure you are back before then or it may only be 30 days, proposal to continue the 45 days but nothing official as yet.
