TLDR : Answer Summary
The 90-day reporting is required for those on a DTV visa; it must be done in person for the first report and can be done online afterward. If you leave Thailand and return within the 90 days, the reporting period resets. However, opening a bank account with a DTV is typically difficult and may require the use of an agent. Some users have reported that account opening is rarely successful with a DTV visa.

You should be able to open a bank account by using an agent. They pay under the table.

afraid so most expensive in world . Can go to another country to save money but it is what it is. Over 5 yrs not so terrible. Peace if mind now I have one.

The 90 day report is complicated…if you stay in Thailand for the 90 days then yes you do…if you travel out of Thailand within the 90 days then it resets to day 1 the day you enter back into Thailand…on the first 90 day report you have to do in person after that you can do online…bank acct most likely its impossible to open one with the DTV at the moment…there are apps you can D/L if you want to partake in the QR code scanning

For everyone around the world outside of Thailand, the only website to submit an application for and receive a Thai E–Visa (PDF) is generally all online only at thaievisa.go

You apply for an e-visa by going to the Thai Embassy website, creating an account and applying. You can save your application for up to 14 days giving you plenty time to get everything together.

Expensive 2k nzd .apparently lot cheaper in Vietnam or Cambodia but add in extra accom flights etc and having it before leaving makes it ok and spread over 5 yrs.

Went to Thailand embassy web site and downloaded app.

Sign up and follow instructions. Am remote worker now. Took about 1 month but had to submit extra info, took a few days arranging that.

From submitting extra info took about 7 -10 days.

Daunting at first but soon enough got the hang of it .

Good luck

Yes and probably not. It’s very rarely successful with DTV

Yes you do 90 day reporting but opening a Thai bank account will not be easy as the DTV is a type of tourist visa
