What should I do if I'm 45 days overdue on my 90-day report for my DTV visa in Thailand?

Hi guys! I need your input regarding an overdue 90-day report for a DTV visa holder.

It has been about 45 days since my 90-day report was due, and I completely forgot to submit it. From what I understand, if I report it now, I may have to pay a 2,000 THB fine.

Alternatively, would it be okay if I simply leave Thailand before my current 180-day stay expires? Does Immigration check the 90-day reporting status when departing the country, and could I be fined at the airport if I haven't submitted the report?

Has anyone experienced a similar situation with a DTV? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. 🙏
Answer summary
A user is seeking advice regarding their overdue 90-day report for a DTV visa, which is 45 days late. They inquire whether they could simply leave Thailand before their 180-day stay expires and if immigration checks reporting status upon departure. Responses from the community suggest that late reports typically incur a 2,000 THB fine but are unlikely to result in issues at the airport. Users advise that the fine is applied when visiting immigration and generally not when leaving the country. They recommend filing the report to avoid complications in the future.

They don’t check 90 day reports when leaving or entering Thailand when you need something from immigration that’s why you go pay the fine it’s the same if you miss one or four it’s not a big deal

You can leave the country and come back without issues.

There will be no fine to pay at the airport.

Airport immigration doesn't care at all about 90-day reporting.

If, one day, you do something at an immigration office and some eagle eyed officer notices that you skipped a 90-day report, you'll pay a 2000 THB fine. Highly unlikely, but that's the worst that can happen.

File your 90 day report and pay the 2000 thb, simple.

Go to your office and make the report. Worst that can happen is 2000 baht fine. Better than worrying about what might happen when you re enter. I did no 90 day report for two years and when immigration caught up they did it for me no fine.

Just pay the fine. I missed mine by a few days. Had to pay to get other docs processed.

If you ever need to do anything at immigration you will need to pay the 2,000 baht fine before they will process anything such as certificate of residence etc. If you are stopped at random police check or arrested you can be find 5,000 baht. If you are late on your TM47 90-day report or missing a TM30 address report, Thai Immigration will not process any paperwork for you, like a Certificate of Residence or visa extension, until you pay the fine. However, late reporting does not affect leaving or entering Thailand and will not be fined at airport border control. The fine for a late TM47 or missing TM30 is 2,000 Baht at an immigration office, but if police stop or arrest you with an overdue TM47, the fine increases up to 5,000 Baht.

TLDR: in my 20 year experience never 90 day report unless you need to go to immigration for other reasons.

Been here 20 years. Never 90 day reported ever. I think once when renewing an education visa back in the day my visa agent had to pay a fine at immigration in country. I’ve entered and exited 30+ times and 4+ on a DTV when I should have technically 90 day reported and never been questioned. Don’t sweat it.

No. They do not fine at the airport, and possible you will not have any issues to re-enter. You will be fine 2K when you go to the immigration or when you do your next 90 days the report. So, after your reentry, when you have to do your next 90 days report, you pay the fine. No worries. It happened with me too. I didn't do the first 90 days report. Next one I did, and somehow, they didn't fine me.

You must have missed reports here of people paying the 2000 baht fine.

Visa resets? What a BS.

You don't need to pay taxes because you leave and comeback? BS again, 180 days or more in a calendar year means tax resident and has NOTHING to do with visa.

Missing 90 days reporting when you are not in the country? Obviously you don't understand anything of it.

90 day reporting has to be done when you are 90 consecutive days IN the country, so you cannot miss reports when you are OUTSIDE the country.

How hard can it be to understand that.

For missing TM47 90 days report there is a fine of 2000 baht in place, rubbish that it never is used.

The fact that you don't even know or are unable to understand basics is your problem, but please stop posting this misinformation.

They certainly do keep track of it, but that does not mean they check every time, so you might be lucky and not get a fine.

And yet nobody pays the fine. Not one person here has ever said they were fined.

What resets? The visa resets when you leave and come back in. Which is why you don't need to pay taxes.

I flew home for 6 months for Christmas... came back.. and then what... I missed 2 90 day reports..

It's an extended tourist visa.. Nothing more. Nobody is fined cause it's literally just a police report.

What resets when you leave?

Immigration office has access to your complete file and missing 90 day reports are visible in that registration.

Why should they throw away that registration the moment you leave as you suggest.

A police check that you pay for? Where do you pay for? 90 day reporting is free.

It's literally a police check that you pay for... which is why they want all your info everytime you go.

People keep saying you're getting lucky...

Nobody is getting lucky. It resets everytime you leave.

I’ve personally always filed my 90 day reporting but apparently a friend of mine who has been living here for 4 years told me he’s never done a 90 day reporting and has entered and exited many times without any isssues. I haven’t verified this myself so take with a grain of salt but he told me this like last month

If the person is 45 days late on the Thai 90-day report (TM.47), but their actual permitted stay in Thailand has not expired, this is generally not a visa overstay. They are two different issues.

At the airport

If they simply failed to file the 90-day report:

* Immigration can see that the TM.47 report was missed.

* The normal penalty for a late 90-day report is 2,000 baht. Thai Immigration specifically states that a person who reports late must appear in person and can be fined 2,000 baht.

since I came first time in Thailand 10 years ago I never heard of someone being fined at the airports or land borders, or having problems at re-entry due missing 90 days reports.

I was fined 2000 THB two weeks ago. My own fault as miscalculated the date I should have measured by. The Officer was all very apologetic but it was triggered automatically on the system.

2000 THB if you voluntarily go to the immigration office but if you get caught with a missed 90-day report the fine is 5000 THB

Let us know when people start getting fined at the airport for not doing 90 Day report. PS: They are not new "Laws". It is new rules or guidance and sweet FA to do with 90 day reporting

@Greg *******
The new laws have only been in effect for three days, and you know perfectly well that when new laws come out of Bangkok, the immigration officers tend to be quite strict for a few weeks

That may well be true going forward but as it stands nobody gets fined today at borders. Do you have any evidence of it being different right now? We are talking about todays reality not tomorrow's speculation.
