A couple of questions regarding the non immigrant O-A Visa , if anyone has recently applied ( Australian passport holder ) , is the police check Frderal or State and can the Medical certificate be issued by a local GP , also if you have 800,000 Baht that should be fine right ? , any info would be much appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for the non-immigrant O-A Visa as an Australian citizen, you need to provide several documents. The police check must be from the Australian Federal Police, and it can be obtained online. A local GP can issue the medical certificate, but ensure you use the specific form provided by the embassy. Furthermore, maintaining a balance of 800,000 Baht in a Thai bank should meet the financial requirements for the visa.

Police check is from the Australian Federal police, easy to do on line. Your medical certificate can be done by your local GP, just use the form the embassy supplies, all very easy.

Can’t answer your questions but if applying through Sydney then 100% apply for the OX visa instead. It’s like $300 more but you get a 10 year (5+5) visa.

Sydney doesn’t require funds in Thailand. The only consulate that doesn’t.

Had a number of people say that when they applied for the OA the consulate wrote and said you qualify for the OX and would you like that instead. I believe the difference is $300.

In America I got the police report from the local police and my medical from my general Dr if you have the 800k in a Thai bank showing it came as a foreign transfer just get the non-o and extend here for 1 year no insurance that won’t pay for much needed
