I'm currently overdue on my 90-day report. If I leave the country and re-enter (after getting the re-entry permit) what happens?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are overdue on your 90-day report and leave Thailand with a re-entry permit, you will likely face a fine of 2000 baht when you next file your report. Although entering Thailand will reset your 90-day reporting requirement, the immigration officer may impose a fine for the missed report when you submit your next one.

yes i realize i'll probably pay a fine. But entry into Thailand resets the 90-day report schedule, so I'm wondering how that will work... the combination of being late and then re-entering.
