What happens if a Non B visa and work permit expire while unable to return to Thailand?

I've tried to call my local immigration but they are not able to give me an answer.

A colleague at work is back home to Canada on holiday and was due to come back to Thailand on the 20th of April. This looks unlikely that she will be able to come back at this point.

The problem is that her Non B visa and work permit will expire on May the 15th. Has anybody got any experience as to what would happen with her visa etc if she is not able to come back by that time?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A colleague's Non B visa and work permit will expire on May 15th, but she might not return to Thailand by then. Seeking advice on the repercussions of her visa expiring if she cannot return.

If her Non Immigrant B visa is past the Valid Until date she has to get a new visa, just like normal days,

OK, we can sort that out while she is in her home country. Thanking you kindly for the info
