Today, I went to Bangkok immigration to extend my retirement visa.. again, I had trouble not having a tm30 print, as my previous extension was done in chonburi. Is this normal? Anybody can clearly state what documents are needed, as I’m also not sure about documents needed from the bank.. thank you 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user encountered issues while attempting to extend their retirement visa in Bangkok due to not having a TM30 printout from their previous extension in Chonburi. Users in the comments confirmed that registering for a TM30 is important, especially when staying in hotels or long-term accommodations. Additionally, they clarified that the immigration office typically requires three bank documents: a recent bank statement, copies of all pages from the bank book, and a certification form from the bank verifying funds over the last three months.

At my Immigration, they ask for 3 documents from the bank: 1) Bank statement for the last 3 months, 2) Copies of all pages from my bank book with an update from the same day as applying for the extension, 3) A form from the bank certifying that you have had the required money on account for 3 months. Immigration can most likely hand over an example to show to your bank.

I should have asked for an example indeed, as my local bank here had no clue, and gave me the wrong paperwork even though I showed them the imitation website ….

You are supposed to register for a TM30 if you are staying hotel they do it.

Long term accomadation the owner usually does it. Mine is at our house and wife is official owner she uses an app but you can go and do at your local immigration office.

thank you. My wife did it through the app. Very surprised that they still asked for a paper, as imo should be able to check that in their systems….

they love the paperwork, if they had there act together why would i need to submit my marriage certificate everytime i do extension. I have a yellow book, pink ID card but still have to do TM30.

You should take screenshot of app print it staple it in your passport its the easiest

I haven’t done a TM30 and have yellow book and pink ID card. Never been asked for it at Prachaup immigration and have had my marriage visa. Went to apply for my year extension this week and didn’t ask for TM30 either. Hope all fine on returning the year extension

different offices interpret requirements differently rare that two are the same.

fair point as reading on here can see that. Shame can’t make it little bit easier with national standard process.

you would think that, i dread to see the paper storage facilities they have. Like when did yellow book and pink ID lots of paperwork is same as visa should be on central database.

I went back to work in Singapore after not being there for twenty years they still had everything on file, all i needed to do was update my CV and still had same ID number

If Thailand had there act together your pink ID could act as everything.

you are right, it seems weird but I think it's because all the docs are checked physically. The IO you submit everything to hands the pile of paper down the line to be checked until it gets to the final person
