TLDR : Answer Summary
UK residents can indicate their current location for visa applications using documents such as a driver's license, utility bills (excluding mobile phone bills), or other forms of identification. This requirement is common to verify that applicants are physically present in the country where they are applying, especially for those who may be traveling. Options like an entry stamp may be needed for those applying from outside the UK.
The reason for document request indicating current location, is so that they confirm you are actually in the country that youβre applying from - sounds strange but is a very common request. Those who visit other countries, to apply for the visa, are normally requested to show an entry stamp.
Those that live in the country of application, can show something such as a drivers licence, utility bill (not mobile phone bill) or sometimes other documents are accepted. Hope this helps.
