TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a reentry permit in Thailand, you will need: 1 passport-sized photo, a copy of your passport (including the ID page, Visa or Extension of Stay page, Admitted Until stamp), the departure card, and the application form. The cost is 1,000 THB for a single reentry permit and 3,800 THB for a multiple reentry permit. A reentry permit is required if you plan to leave Thailand and return before your current permission to stay expires.

If you have a period of Admitted to Stay inside Thailand and you want to leave and return before this last day of Admitted to Stay. Using this re-entry permit keeps your current permission to stay alive.
