What Documents Are Required for a Non-Immigrant O Visa Application for Canadians Over 50 in Savannakhet?

Hi

I have a Canadian passport and a non imm OA visa expiring March 18, 2020. I'm going to Savannakhet to apply for a 90 day non imm O visa based on being over 50.I can't get one in country where I live in Khon Kaen

One of the required documents is an official letter from the concerned Embassy/Consulate of applicant's nationality.

Anyone know what this means? Do I have to prove that I'm Canadian? I think my passport proves that.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Canadian passport holder with a non-immigrant OA visa is seeking clarification on the requirement of an official letter from Canada's embassy or consulate for applying for a non-immigrant O visa in Savannakhet, Thailand, specifically to establish their nationality as part of the application process.

Hands down the easiest consulate to get it from around here is the thai consulate in Penang Malaysia. Unless I'm wrong Penang issues that visa with just proof of funds.

The consulate in Vientiane WILL issue it but you need a medical certificate, a police background check and a letter from your consulate stating you are "retired" along with the proof of funds.

thanks Tod, I emailed Penang a couple weeks ago and never received a reply. Thanks for saving me a wasted trip to Savannakhet

Is the Non-O-A VISA (sticker) expiring on march 18th 2020 OR is the current entry stamp you have from the visa expiring? I ask because I'm trying to see if you got the full 2 years of stay you can get out of that visa...

the current entry stamp. I've used my visa to the max. Do you know where I can get a 90 day non O based on being over 50

You cannot get a 90 day non-O visa based on being over 50 (retirement) at the thai consulate in Savannakhet. NO matter what their website says they don't issue it
