This is just an update on documents required by Chiangrai Immigration Office when applying for an extension of stay for retirement with an OA visa.

Yesterday I was granted another years stay. One of the documents they required was the original health insurance certificate. I am insured with Pacific Cross and they just email a copy out that you print off and take with you. This I understand is usually sufficient however Chiangrai Office require the original.

This was the part if the reason for my post they don't need to see the original certificate. The handout of their requirements does not even mention health insurance certificate at least not the one I saw. I only found out about the requirement because I asked an IO there.

the immigration office also logs in to the mandatory insurance program and checks how long you're covered on your plan (or they SHOULD do that) ;) too
