TLDR : Answer Summary
The query pertains to the specific documents required by a small school in Thailand to send to the Department of Education to obtain a letter necessary for a Non-B visa for a foreign teacher. Key documents include a background check, BA diploma, and transcripts. Responses suggest the school should contact the Ministry of Education directly for guidance, as they would provide the necessary instructions on the documentation needed for the approval letter.

This is the place that issues the teachers licenses and the waiver letters you're referring to. They have the info on what to send to apply for the waiver.

Let the school contact the Ministry of Education. They will explain.

The Thai Consulate you go to and/or the local Thai Immigration office will have the information you need - either inline or in printed form.

Also your small school may need to hire a Visa Agent... Often local Accountants act as Visa Agents

As I said, the easiest way is let the school contact the Ministry of Education and they will explain what documents are needed to get that approval letter.

- I disagree. The only rule I know of is do not NAME a Visa Agent. I an quite confident that as a proven practical matter that a new foreign employee at a small school that has never hired a Foreign employee before will be hard pressed to get the B Visa and Work Permit without onsite Consultation by someone experienced to guide them through. Robert you are detached from the situation from having 13 years of experience living here. What we have here is two newbies - a small school and a new foreigner as employee.

- The WebSite would be in the name of the Thai Consulate or Embassy in a neighbor country where you may gave to go to get you B Visa. Example - Thai Embassy in Vientiane, Laos.

On this page we like to give advice to help people, not by telling them they may need to hire a Visa Agent. Thanks for understanding.

Department of Education does not give out a Non Immigrant B visa, for that you have to visit the Thai Immigration Office in your area or a Thai Embassy or Consulate.
