There has been a lot of confusion in past posts so I'd love advice from people who have RECENTLY gotten their Non-B's (as teachers) in Vientiane.
Exactly what documents do I need?
*I do NOT have any writing on my current tourist visa. It was NOT acquired in Pretoria.
*I am teaching at an International School.
Thanks a lot :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
A South African expat is seeking advice on the documentation needed to acquire a Non-B visa for teaching purposes in Vientiane. They specify that their current tourist visa has no writing and was not obtained in Pretoria, and they are teaching at an international school. Comments suggest referring directly to the Thai consulate's official information and highlight the importance of visa specifics related to the Pretoria consulate.
If you apply inside Thailand as you did in Bangkok, they check the papers. As you mention, you cann't get the work permit, one of the requirements for the visa so you can not get the visa. Other point is what where the documents not mentioned on the website that your friend missed in her application for the visa in Vientianne?
Tod Daniels I have a friend who did that and was denied a visa. the people around her got their visas and said, 'you didn't check the thai visa group on Facebook??'. The documents listed on the website was not everything they asked of her when she got there. But this group had the correct list. She's American. Things tend to be twice as complicated for South Africans. Case and point being that I was denied a Non-B in Bangkok because I didn't have a recent TOEIC. Even though officially you only need the TOEIC for when you apply for a work permit, not a NonB.
