Do government schools in Thailand have a license or registration for Non-Immigrant B visa applications?

Hello.

I have a question about one of the requirements listed for a Non-Immigrant B application processed through the Thai E-Visa website. I am a U.S. citizen applying for an E-Visa in the United States for the purpose of teaching in Thailand.

One of the requirements is a school/university license or registration. I’ve been reading some conflicting information about whether or not government schools in Thailand actually have this document.

Do government schools or universities have a license or registration? Or is a license or registration something only a private school/university has? If a government school should have this type of document, would they specifically have a license or a registration?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, Brian, inquires about whether government schools in Thailand have the necessary licenses or registrations required for a Non-Immigrant B visa application through the Thai E-Visa system. There are suggestions from the community that relevant documentation should be provided by the employer or the school itself, and that government institutions likely have some form of registration, possibly from the Ministry of Education. Users recommend consulting with foreign teacher groups for detailed requirements.

Maybe you can try foreign teacher's groups in your destination area or in Thailand for those detailed requirements.

That’s a good idea. I’ll try to see if I can find any groups in my destination area. Thanks!

Do you now have a school and teaching contract which will be your employer when you get to Thailand?

Also, I’ve noticed that the Immigration Bureau in Thailand, where I’d change my Tourist Visa to a Non-Immigrant B Visa if I was already in Thailand, does not list a requirement for a school/university license or registration for government schools. The Bureau only lists the license or registration requirement for a private school/university. However, since I’m applying through the E-Visa website, the requirement for a school/university license or registration is required regardless of the type of school or university.

Yes. I’ve already signed a contract. My school is in a rural area and they don’t hire foreign teachers often. They have been very helpful preparing documents for me for my Non-Immigrant B Visa, but they are not sure what the school license or registration document is. That’s why I wasn’t sure if government schools don’t have this type of document or if the document is called something else other than registration or license.

You need to ask your employer/school to provide documentation for you to apply. They should know what you need and which document you mean about documentation with those information.

As a rule the place you're getting the documentation from will provide you everything you need to upload to use the evisa system and get the 90 day Non-B visa approved.

I'm sure they have an MOE (Ministry of Education) registration or something but I couldn't speak to the specifics
