Hi all, forgive me if this is an obvious question, but hoping someone can clarify.
I have been in Thailand now for 30 days + approaching the end of my subsequent 30 day extension.
I am flying to Vietnam for a 5 day break, to then return to Thailand and repeat the above cycle.
Can someone clarify what documentation I will need for a smooth return into Thailand (on a flight from Vietnam)
Many thank in advance!
Steve

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is asking about the documentation required to re-enter Thailand after a short trip to Vietnam. Responses suggest that if the user is from a visa-exempt country without any Covid-related extensions, they should only need their passport and proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test for a smooth return. Additionally, it's mentioned that applying for a tourist visa in Vietnam could extend their stay in Thailand.
Assuming you're from a country that qualifies for visa exempt.
It sounds like you don't have any Covid extensions in your passport, and if that's true you shouldn't have any issues.
You'll just need your passport and vaccination proof or negative covid test and you should be fine.
You could also consider applying for a tourist visa while you're in Vietnam if you want more time in Thailand, since that would give you 90 days with extension rather than 60 with visa exempt.
no one can answer that, but you can do things to help prevent problems like having an actual visa and not entering visa exempt, and having the 3 proofs that they use to refuse entry to people.
proof of funds (20,000 baht or equivalent in another major currency in CASH ONLY), proof of accomodation (at least a week hotel reservation) and proof of onward travel (a ticket out of Thailand within 30 or 60 days depending on how long you'll be stamped in for).
the 20k requirement is practically never used. Immigration knows in this day of credit, bank cards and e payments that people donโt carry cash with them. If you are coming from a very poor country and are a national of that country you are likely to be asked. The same in many countries
