Hey guys, I have three questions about the STV:

1. Do we know if it will be possible to extend the STV after September 30, when they stop issuing them?

1. For long-term accommodation, should I lease a place before I  get there? I was under the impression that to find a place to live in Thailand, you should just show up, but it sounds like they want to know where you'll be before you arrive.

1. (Follow up to #2) If I do have to lease a place, should I lease just for the first 90 days, or should I anticipate the extensions and lease for 180 or 270 days? It's tricky because I want to live in Chiang Mai for a few months but then move South during the burning season - but this won't be until my visa is extended.

Bottom line is....

If you arrive after July 3rd... You will only be stamped in for 90 days and NO extensions will be granted to you.

If you are not yet in Thailand... Do yourself a huge favor and forget about the STV it expires by Thai law on September 30th
