Hello admin, not sure if this is allowed.

I made a YT video about my DTV Process at the Thai Embassy in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

I thought it might be relevant?

Hi Annique, For "accommodation in Thailand" under the additional documents requirement, what sort of document did you need to provide? A one-week or one-month booking confirmation? A longer booking? Thanks!
Ziv *****
Hi, the 500k was in your bank account for 3 months? I ask because I moved the money last week from the investment account to checking account and I got rejected in Laos.

Could you please tell me where did you apply for the appointment?

When I browse the website of Thailand embassy in ho chi min, I didn't see dtv visa in the available visa lists.

Who did you provide as your guarantor? I assume you wrote 180 days for period of stay right?

Hello, I understand that you are obligated to answer and file this form. Personally, I filed this form with my current situation during application. This is the information, I´m willing to help you with. This is a standard form and if you need more help, I´m pretty sure a visa agent can help you with details and further assistance.

Guarantor for what? I've never heard of this being a requirement.

I watched your video a few days ago - great stuff! My question is about a form. In the video you mentioned a form but that is not on the required list. On the HCMC website, it doesn't state a form either, but there are forms there for visas and it stated something about submitting a form up to 2 weeks before your appointment. I can't remember exactly where I saw that on the site but I did. I will be doing it through the HCMC embassy soon as well, hoping you can clarify. thanks!

he Tim, thanks for the compliment, that warms my heart ☺.

I´m not sure if I understand what you mean, but will do my best to help.

- I didnt submit any forms before meeting at the embassy. That was my first meeting point with them. I did make an appointment online which is required.

- There is standard form, which they gave to me at the Embassy and I filed it that moment. For your idea, I attached a form (please note this one is from Kuala Lumpur) Is that what you mean? They might have one for the Ho Chi Minh office online as well ? Nevertheless, I got one provided at the embassy.

- Once at the embassy, they give you a paper with: Additional documents requested, where they state which more documents they want from you.

Hope this helps.

As far as I read it, it says, submit application at least 2 weeks before ¨travel time¨.

So I don´t understand your question.

Yes, I received this form there.
Tim ***********
@Anique ******
Correct, but you didn't submit the application 2 weeks prior to your travel time right?

If I go to the embassy in HCMC, and intend to fly out after the 2 days it takes to receive it, that is not 2 weeks. So my question is do you need to submit the application 2 week before ? Sounds like you just submitted it at the embassy in person which is a bit conflicting to their messaging. Just wanted to be sure I could show up to my appointment and fil in the form there.

Hello Tim, I have explained my timeline in my YouTube video, if you want to know more about it, I kindly ask you to watch it at the video where I share my personal experience and the timeline that I used.

I assume the timeline is a recommended timeline by the embassy, I guess it is up to you to follow that or not. I don´t know why that is.

Also, if you need more time and personalized assistance with your visa application, I would suggest to ask a visa service, as I can only share from personal experience.

I hope you are able to receive it as you want.

@Anique ******
Well it wasn't clear about the form part in the video. In the video you said they ask for a visa form and photograph. Understood. But on their website it says that the form needs to be submitted 2 weeks prior. That's why I am asking you what you did specifically. Never mind, I think we are going around in circles. Thanks for your time.

just saw your profile and we have some stuff in common. I'm also Canadian and am employed by vipkid. I submitted my contract with them as proof of remote work. I applied at the Ottawa embassy

@Tim **********
I think they mean submit it 2 weeks prior to when you want to travel to Thailand. So you go to the embassy 2 weeks before so they have time to process it prior to your intended travel dates to Thailand.
Tim ***********
@Danny ******
Yes, however, in Vietnam, the turnaround time is just 2 days so my plan is to really just go to Vietnam for 4-5 days to be safe. The wording on the website got me a bit worried. Let me know if they accepted the VIPkid contract!
Danny *******
@Tim **********
Ah yah, I gotcha. The wording is definitely up for interpretation.

Yes, my vipkid contract was sufficient. My visa was granted within 5 days. They did ask for a resume as additional documents though (I think they wanted to see how long I'd been employed because of the whole 6 months contracts thing)
Tim ***********
@Danny ******
ah good to know, I will make sure my resume is up to date.

hopefully hcmc doesn't give you any trouble, good luck! Feel free to dm me if you have any questions

@Danny ******
Oh wow! Great stuff. I currently live in Thailand and I have a contract with them but I mainly recruit a bit with them, teach my own students and sell digital courses and products to teachers through YT.

Hopefully you will find the clarity that I cannot give you and that you are looking for 🙏

Thanks! Yeah so on their website it says this (see below). So it made me think that the form needed to be filled in and sent prior to the appointment. What you're saying is that you just made an appointment and showed up and filled in the form, correct ?
