What are the requirements and considerations for applying for a DTV visa in Vientiane, Laos?

Hey everyone!

I'm planning to get my DTV visa in Vientiane, Laos. I recently reached the 500k baht minimum, so I'm a bit worried I won't comply with the 6-month account balance mininmum? Or is that not a problem?

I'm a freelancer. What do I need to submit on the evisa site to make sure I have everything covered?

Thanks!

I'm not sure if Laos has changed it's policy since switching to the e-visa, but to be safe, you should apply in Cambodia or Vietnam, not Laos.

I’ve also read that Laos is efficient? Maybe not though. Why should I avoid Laos? Already got the visa and bus ticket haha

Anonym deltagare you write that you are worried you won't meet the bank statement criteria since you just recently reached above 500K... I believe that is what Paul replied/referred to since there are previous posts that the embassy/consulate in Laos require your ending balance to be above 500K for at least 3 month when applying in there.

Use the search tool in this group (to the upper right) and search for "Vientiane" to read about others experiences... Then decide if you want to change/forfeit your bus ticket and visa or not.

Anonymous participant It definitely isn't. Laos has the longest processing time of any country...15 days.

You have not told us what purpose are you applying for the DTV visa?

Workcation?

Muay Thai training?

Or ??

What is your passport nation?

How long have you been in Thailand?

What kind of Thai Visa, if any, do you now have?

And have you read the requirements for the DTV visa as they appear on the Vientiane website?

Have you read the posts on this forum about getting the DTV visa in Vientiane?

There you will find your answer to your question.

I’ve read about some very different experiences. To answer your questions…

1. Workcation

2. USA passport

3. Been in Thailand a total of 6 months(?) but Jan 4th until present this year.

4. Currently tourist visa

5. I have read the requirements, but again, I’ve heard some mixed experiences about it.
