Any South Africans applied for the DTV yet? The consulate website points you to eVisa. SAs cannot apply for eVisas. Back to the consulate website they mention any visa must be applied for through VFS. Go to their website it doesn't work and they have not responded to any emails for a week already. So I booked a flight next week to go to the pretoria consulate in person but it would be great to hear of anyone who has managed thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A South African is seeking advice on the application process for the DTV visa. They faced issues accessing the eVisa for South Africans, as it is not available, and were directed to apply through VFS, which is currently unresponsive. They planned to visit the Pretoria consulate in person but are looking for insights from others who have successfully navigated this situation.

says you ONLY apply thru VFS, and I got in, made a log in, got to select an application center, then the visa type BUT could not find the DTV in their choices they only had Non-Imm, Short Stay, and Other ๐Ÿ˜• None of those showed DTV

Dunno what to tell you but before I flew over to Pretoria I'd sure call them and talk to them to see what's what about it

They LIST the DTV on their website as an available visa

thanks ๐Ÿ™ I was enable to create a login a few days ago I'll try again. They don't list their number anywhere either. A couple of months ago I was turned away in Penang, KL, and Kota Bahru. They couldn't process a South African passport (Non-b). I have to go back anyway and the DTV launched just in time to go for that instead.

as you are aware, it's difficult for South African passport holders to obtain Thai Visas in any SE Asia Thai Embassy or Consulate. Best you get it in your home country Thai Embassy. And if you have a recent history of entry, staying and extensions, you may be questioned by Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival into Thailand. With a Thai Visa or not. Good Luck ๐Ÿ€
