I am going to Thailand for 5 months and I am applying for a non-immigrant type O multiple entry visa. I am going to leave the country before 90 days and return, am I going to have a problem arriving since my plane ticket to return is 5 months away not 3 months?

TLDR : Answer Summary
You should not encounter any problems when arriving in Thailand with a Non-Immigrant Type O multiple entry visa, even if your return ticket is for five months later. The multiple entry visa allows you to exit and re-enter the country, restarting the 90-day reporting requirement upon your return. Proof of onward travel is not necessary for valid long-term visa holders.

No, proof of onward travel is not a requirement for those with a valid long term visa

No problem, after every entry the 90 days rule starts from zero. No matter how much time you spend abroat. I’m using since 12 years Non-O with multiple entry and I’ve never been to the 90 days report because I always left Thailand before due to business reason.

The clue is "multi entry permit".

The 90 days reporting requirement stops on exit and starts again on re entry to the Kingdom.

No because multi entry is valid for 1 year

this is only a 90 day permit but I can renew. My question is about my airline ticket.

So you are on a 90 day visa not 1 year multi entry.

But doesnt matter no need to show flights for non immigrant visas
