It’s kind of very easy. I do it After watching YouTube video. In the same I saw a Thai lady making

(she charged 3000 bath per person) bath of the 1 hour I wait for my licence. She is an agent helping 4 expat and making killer money. I do both car and motorcycle. Cost forget but maybe 600-700 bath. Govt rate. One hiccup I face when I first go they give me appointment after 3 week. But now maybe load is not too much. Just spend an hour in YouTube. Agent only help as translators . Because agent or not you have to collect all documents by yourself. Only doc is bit pain is to residence certificate. Give it a try. New country need to explore.

Not sure of your country of origin? The USA DL can be easily converted to a Thai’s . It took me about an hour to get my 10 years Thai DL with no test but the video demo and eyes test due to my imperfection eye sight.

The first Thai DL is normally for 2 years then you renew every 5 years after that. How did you get a an initial 10 years?

I got mine myself in Sa Kaeo province, out with my licence in 75 minutes

@ bkk area the appointment queue is quite long, last i check bang chak DLT next appointment is feb 2025.

Wouldn't pay a agent cus they charge 3500B for it but the license cost only 205B for car, and u still need to be there in the queue. They have a special counter just for foreigner.

You will need certificate of residence, health cert. Copy of passport, copy of yr country driver license all need to be in English. Make multiple copys.

For me i get all docs went there and they make a appointment just before my cert expire, so i went there a 2nd time to finally get the license.

When you say you want to take your licence do you mean you don't currently have one or you want to convert a licence from elsewhere to a Thai licence? If the former I'd suggest you sign up to a course with a Thai driving school and they will take you through the process in 5 days
