TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquires about agents who can assist with obtaining a Thai bike and car license in Patong or Phuket. Multiple comments emphasize that while agents may offer general help, applicants must still complete tests and watch videos as part of the licensing process. Many users advise that getting a license is straightforward and can be done without an agent, as local staff often speak English and the process is relatively easy in these areas.
You must do a test, watch a video (in person) and get your photo taken. How do you think it will save you time and still obtain the DL legally? If you skip the video and the test it will be at your own risk of having an illegal DL. If you are involved in an accident this could backfire badly with insurrance and legal claims. Sometimes it is just better to do things the right way.
. Agents cannot get DLs under the counter (unlike visas). Many agents won't do DLs because there's nothing much actually they can do to help you. Staff at the Driver Centres speak pretty good English, and the forms are straightforward enough. The agent would charge a stack of money to stand next to you whilst you do everything yourself.
If you want to get a tie bike or drivers license in Thailand you’ve got to take the test. If you’re in your home country outside of Thailand and you have a license you can get an international drivers permit for that type of vehicle.
Phuket is really simple its in Saphan Hin all signs are in English as well as Thai. Its the easiest place i have ever done it. I dont know of any agents in Phuket for this as there is no difficulty doing (i lived there for 20 years) Bangkok and Pattaya has agents
Then go to the DLT yourself. It will cost about 210 baht and take you probably 30 minutes. The DLT is nothing like immigration. They are friendly and very helpful, and always someone there who speaks English.
