Hello all,

Can anyone recommend an agent that could help with getting a Thai drivers license? Ideally, I’d pay someone to help me through the whole process and get it done in a day or two! I’m located in Bangkok- Samut Prakan

Edited to add: sorry let me clarify, my license from the US is expired

Thanks

Go home or renew your home drivers license by mail.

Come back with a valid license and an International Drivers Permit.

if that is the case then you won't get it in a day, or two, even with an agent. Your first delay is getting your residence letter if you don't have a work permit with your address in it, most new ones don't. If you've done a 90 day report then you can get one at immigration, and they will mail it to you to the address you gave them, or you get a notarized residency letter from the US embassy, which takes at least a week to get an appointment through the US Embassy's citizen services, and you must have an appointment, you can't just walk in to do it. When you have this residency letter, then you also need a medical certificate, that you can easily get. Any of the motorcycle taxi drivers at DLT will know where to take you for it. After you have this, and copies of your passport, and work permit if it has your address in it, and you're set for the written test. Pass this and then it is the reaction test, color blindness test, and depth perception test, then the safety video. After all this you can schedule your driving test, and be aware there are two different licenses, one for car, and one for motorcycle. Currently it takes about 2-3 months to get scheduled to take these driving tests because of the backup from covid, and the DLT being closed for over a year for driving tests. An agent might help you with this last scheduling delay, but even with them it will take a bit longer than a day, or two.
