TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about their wife's entry into Thailand with her Thai passport, which has a different name than her Australian passport. Comments from the community suggest that as a Thai citizen, she should be able to enter Thailand without any significant issues. It is advised that she presents both passports during the immigration process to clarify any discrepancies. However, concerns are raised regarding her vaccination records possibly being under her Australian name, which could complicate her entry under the current health regulations.

Define problem, she's Thai so obviously the problem is not big. She might get told off to leave Thailand on the same passport she enters next time.

Why would you have different names, my wife has two passports and the same name on both, so easy, don’t change your name.

The reason is a thai with a falang name can not buy property in her thai name.

but I questioned why do you have to change your Thai name to a Farang name anyway, I think it displays a lack of foresight and a lack of understanding in regards to Thai land ownership laws. Just don’t understand why the need to change your Thai name.

no one is changing names

@Michael *****
so why are the names different on the Thai and Australian passports, as the names are in English on both passports, so they should be exactly the same.

I am agreeing with you. Why would anyone have a passport in a name that is not their own? Furthermore to this expect there not to be problems down the line.

The first thing to do is get both passports in her name whichever passport is wrong then correct it. If it is the Thai Passport the process to Chang the name is very simple. Go to your nearest Thai Embassy with the passport and documents supporting the name change and they will make the nessessary changes. In our case it was an observation on the first blank page of the passport. All airline tickets were purchased in her married name. When the passport was renewed the new passport was in my wife's married name.

Alternatively as Rob says your wife continues to use her maiden name.

Life is hard enough why complicate it further.

To answer your question , she won’t have any problems. I have the same situation. My Thai passport has a different name and my Australian has a different name. The Australian immigration links them together in the data base . If you are unsure she can request them to do next time she checks in at the airport in Australia.

ask who?

@Michael *****
the person who checks her in on her flight at the airport. They make a quick phone call. She just has to show them both passports and ask them to link them. They then make a quick and painless phone call to get it done.

she applies as a Thai.

@Sumai *******
lol if she did her vaccine under Australian name the system won't accept her Thai name. She won't get Thai pass. No Thailand pass=No entry
Sumai ********
@Sun ***********
of course she can enter. She has a Thai passport, she’s a Thai citizen.

"My Thai wife has a Thai passport. Can she enter Thailand with her Thai passport?"

Guy come on, the questions are starting to get redicouls here.
Mitchell *******
I was wondering the same thing
@Garrett **********
. Vaccination never came up in the question, so I was also wondering why she just doesn't use the Thai passport when entering.

In any case, think when hitting the immigration, she should just present both passports, if the vaccinations and Pass were done under the non Thai name.
Bob *******
@Garrett **********
her Covid vaccinations will most likely be in her Aussie name, so the question is valid.

@B**
Nothing in his question says anything about covid or vaccines.
