The conversation addresses the requirements for proof of onward travel when applying for a Thai visa. Users discuss the necessity of showing evidence of onward travel within 90 days at the embassy and mention the possibility of a 30-day extension. Additionally, it is noted that airlines may require proof of the visa for length of stay at check-in, and that only real flight reservations are considered valid, as previous methods of using fake tickets are no longer accepted.

FYI you do need proof of a real ticket. Those fake onward flight tickets don't work anymore
You shouldn't have any issue showing proof of onward travel in 90 days when you apply for the visa. The embassy knows you can apply for one 30 day extension after you're here at the immigration office where you stay for 1900baht
but some time they ask at check-in for proof of visa for length of stay. A friend of mine had it and he had to book travel out of Thailand before they would let him check in.
