Answer summary
The discussion revolves around obtaining a Multi-Entry Tourist Visa (METV) for Thailand, with users sharing their experiences regarding the necessary documentation. Many noted that only proof of an initial flight into Thailand and a flight departing after 60 to 90 days is typically required, although some were prepared to provide additional flight details. Experiences varied by consulate, with specific praise for the efficiency of the London embassy. Some participants highlighted the shift to online applications, especially for those previously applying in person.

I applied for My METV online through Washington DC. Only need proof of entry and final flight home, which I have since changed.

I brought my Vietnamese girlfriend to join me in Chiang Mai for six months using the METV. The immigration officer in the Thai embassy in HCMC was only interested in my booking return flights at the end of the six month period. They weren't interested in showing evidence of border runs in between. In fact, I used the online service to book her first 30 day extension and then I've booked flights for us to visit Laos as a border run before returning in late October. Immigration weren't interested in any of that, just the arrival and departure flights after six months.

As a rule you show your entry flight to Thailand and then a flight leaving in 60 to 90 days and then a flight returning, to prove to the Embassy the reason you need a multi entry tourist visa.

Submit what you have and if they need more flight bookings or information they'll email you

I have only ever submitted my initial flight and have said I will leave within 60days . I have never had to show any other flight. That's been for my last 3 METVs.

that's good to know, the were reports of consulates asking for multiple trips in/out to justify why you need METV

What consulate did you apply thru?

London. Each time. I was extremely surprised - I was prepared to add in the onward flights etc ,to prove I needed an METV but on each occasion it wasn't necessary. Also- it was approved within 24 hours. Really pleased with the service and surprised too!
