What are the requirements for applying for a visa in Thailand as a freelance teacher with a spouse's account holding necessary funds?

Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate your advice🙏

1) I’m an online freelance teacher with no official employer. What should I include in my professional portfolio for the application? Are bank slips accepted as proof of income from clients? Do I need to show contracts with my students? I’d especially love to hear from other freelance teachers who’ve been through this process

2) I plan to apply as the main visa holder, with my husband as a dependant. However, the required 500K baht is in *his* account. Has anyone successfully applied with the funds in a spouse’s name? Is it accepted?

3) Lastly, for someone with a Russian passport, which country is currently the easiest and fastest to apply from — Malaysia, Cambodia, or Vietnam?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post seeks advice for an online freelance teacher applying for a Thai visa. Key questions include what to include in a professional portfolio, particularly proof of income, and whether funds in a spouse's bank account are acceptable for meeting financial requirements. Comments from the community suggest that bank statements and contracts with clients can serve as proof, while having funds in the spouse's name may pose challenges. It is also discussed that Cambodia and Vietnam might be easier countries from which to apply for a Russian passport holder.

it's really likely that your visa gets denied. Do you pay taxes and can you prove that? Have that 500k been sitting in the bank for more than

months?

Thanks for the reply. Do you mean paying taxes in Thailand or in my home country where I’m registered as self-employed? About 500 k — yes

Anonymous participant I see. Do you think applying through the soft power option is a more viable option?

Anonymous participant it's like you'll get ask a s*itload of documents proving that you pay taxes, get paid consistently and blah blah blah. If you don't mind gambling 300$ then you can take the risk

Can't use money in his account.

Not having the money in your bank account may be an issue. You could ask the consulate you intend to apply at if they will accept a sponsorship letter from your husband although it normally works the other way around

Cambodia and Vietnam are much easier to apply from than Malaysia. Bank statements with clients' payments are acceptable proof of income. Submitting contracts with students will strengthen your application. Professional portfolio can inc CV, sample of lesson, letters/emails of appreciation from students/clients. links to work related websites used.

Why cant your husband apply taking a soft power course such as Muay Thai and once he gets his visa you apply as a dependant ?
