TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around compiling a list of requirements for obtaining a DTV visa based on various Thai embassies and consulates, specifically focusing on how long the funds need to be held in a bank account before application. However, many comments express skepticism about the practicality of creating such a list due to the dynamic nature of visa requirements, which frequently change. Suggestions include utilizing previous community posts and the search function to gather information rather than relying on a single updated document.
What if anything constructive have you contributed to this page Wayne ?
An attempt at wit doesn't really help anyone here with their questions.
Perhaps you are in the wrong group ?

Anonymous participant Perhaps you should first find the meaning of wit! There was NOTHING witty intended in my reply
Perhaps you need to learn how to integrate with people that say things you might not like, after all, it is a social media group. The fact that you would rather see me removed or leave tells everyone more about you than me. Cancel culture was part of the last agenda which has now moved onto silencing culture. I feel for those like you who cant handle the real world, where the slightest, minute upset send you into a spiral!!!
If you want to have a list, why not compile one on your own was all I suggested! No need to wet your knickers! If you would rather NOT SEE people like me in a group, you have 2 choices . . .
1) Block me
2) Create your own group
We all know you wont do the latter because you're too weak, so do us both a favour and hit the block button. Apologies for editing as you reply, but yeah just block someone if you dont like them or have noting in common π
How are you getting on with your list? π
Group expert badge?? ππππ How old are you? 5? And you started this with your pissy weak attitude! All I said was why do you need "WE ALL" to compile a list that YOU WANT? Crack on with it, why do you need your hand holding? What a cuck π

It's hard to create a document like that because the requirements change frequently and can be different for applicants, even at the same embassy.

Yikes !!
So much negativity here.
I was purely suggesting that there is one condenced list that is updated monthly ( for example ) based in people's reports.
Yes things and requirements change, but if this page had a condensed lust if requirements based on each of the popular embassies that would make it simpler and save people asking the same question over and over again.

Anonymous participant if you think it would be useful, then the first step would be to get the ball rolling by setting it up. You might also find you get more cooperation if you lose the anonymity.
I am currently shopping around for a embassy that is not too difficult based on people's experiences.
I think most people rightly use the anonymous posting option when dealing with immigration issues and questions.

I applied in Jakarta with a 6-month statement which only had 500k in at the end of the period. So β30 daysβ I guess would be the best match in your setup in the OP.

Anonymous participant there's a particular question about bank accounts and the answer has always been a resounding capital letter NO. Despite this question being asked and answered daily unambiguously, the question is asked over and over and over again, to the tune of a thousand times. An extreme minority of people do their own research.

#1 that's what search is for
#2 no one will manage such a list for free

You need to tell the Thai Embassies/Consulates that as they are all working for the same government and selling the same product that their conditions also should be the same.

I thought they only need to see that there is money no matter which bank account it is in..
This is the information that is most useful to me as I can do the 3 months but not the 6 months and would beed relatively current info before ai submitted my application.
Anywhere else close to Thailand Andi, I think Hanoi must be swamped these days and am considering some out of the way options like Sri Lanka, Yangon but there is not much feedback in these places.

Anonymous participant There are some recent approvals from SL, seems a friendly embassy. Yangon has less postings since the political issues last year.Manilla is very good, that was my 2nd choice after Taipei, very friendly and responsive to emails. Vietnam is busy but seems to be approving within 10 business days at the moment but new year holidays will delay approvals. Jakarta, Laos are good options too
I have used Yangon in the past to get other non immigrants visas. I was a novelty there. Friendly staff because there is usually a line outside the embassy gate of 100+ locals, I always got ushered in first. However if you need additional documents its tough to get them from there as internet can be bad ...
that I know..that's what we did although we were lucky to have opened a bank account with Bangkok bank years ago to apply for retirement visa..now with dtv we still keep our Bangkok bank limit above the 500k baht

That's what the group is for. Just use the search function.
β I searched, but, unfortunately, there was not a concrete answer for Hanoi re the number of days for the 500,000THB (whether 30, 60, or 90 days.) When I arrive it will be a little over 30 days. Iβm just going to chance it. I already gave notice at my apt.

Requirements are dynamic so even if you compile a table for say the 31st of December 2025 it may way be out of date by the end of January.

It will just change every time a new ambassador changes or new office manager arrives
So itβs futile
