Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know the Answers to these 4 Questions Im British and Married to a Thai wife with one Son.

If I was to deposit 400,000 THB into my Thai bank account to apply for a one year Marriage Extension Today. And also from today every month I paid 60,000 THB ( I think its 40,000 THB Minimum ) into my Thai bank account for the twelve Months for the renewal time for the second year.

1: Do I have to show for the second year 400,000 THB In my Thai bank account as well as the twelve monthly payments of 60,000 THB ?

2: At the end of that twelve months of depositing 60,00 THB Per Month would i have to show Immigration when applying for my Second year marriage visa extension just the deposits made, and does Immigration require me to keep the Initial 400,000 THB As well ?

3: Each month I deposit 60,000 THB Can I use this money afterwards or does this have to stay in the account ?

4: Could I just keep the 400,000 THB for every Extension and not put in the 60,000 THB every month ?

Thanks In advance for your replies.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the requirements for a one-year marriage extension visa in Thailand, specifically regarding the financial obligations involved, including the initial 400,000 THB deposit and monthly payments of 60,000 THB. Key points addressed by commenters include: the necessity of keeping the initial deposit for two months before applying, the possibility of using the funds after the visa is approved, and the differing policies at various immigration offices regarding proof of income. It is advised to consult with the specific immigration office for their requirements.

Save yourself a lot of headaches and just keep the 400K in the account without using the monthly method.

As
@Bra****
explained nor all offices will accept foreign deposits.

Safest practice deposit 400k and forget it exists.

Eliminate any chance of failure.

For a marriage visa, you can take the money out of your account after it's approved, unlike a retirement visa. You can deposit the funds two months before applying for an extension for the following year.

Instead of asking here if they will take the monthly deposit or not, you should ask the immigration office where you will be applying because it varies from office to office.

First of all, if you deposited 400k into your Thai bank account today, you will not be able to get the 12 month extension today, because the money must be in your Thai bank account for 2 full months at the time you apply for your extension.

You need to go to your immigration office and ask them if they accept monthly international transfers for proof of income on a marriage extension. Many immigration offices will ONLY accept paystubs from a job in Thailand with a work permit for proof of income on a marriage extension.

1) If your office allows monthly transfers, then you would only need to show the 12 monthly international transfers for your extension.

2) You asked the same question as number 1.

3) It doesn't need to stay in your account for any amount of time.

4) Yes. But it doesn't need to be in your account for the entire year. It just needs to be in your account 2 months before you apply for your extension. But if you have a separate account for immigration you can just leave the money there, which would be easiest.
