TLDR : Answer Summary
The question pertains to the financial requirements for applying for a Thai marriage visa (NON-O visa). It specifically asks whether the applicant can show proof of funds from a UK bank instead of the required 400,000 baht in a Thai bank. Responses clarify that while foreign bank funds may be acceptable when applying for the initial visa overseas, for extensions, the funds must be in a Thai bank account. Regular monthly income transfers into a foreign bank are not acceptable for extension applications. Additionally, having regular income, such as pensions, may be a valid consideration for some types of visas.

I tried for an e-visa 0 in Laos and was rejected and told to return to Australia. This is not exactly true, as other countries offer an e visa, such as Malaysia, where I will try next. All this just to open a bank account before I lodge my application in Phuket.

For an extension, you have to show money coming into a Thai bank. Income coming into a foreign bank is not acceptable for extensions. Money in a foreign bank is acceptable when you apply for a visa in an embassy outside Thailand.

If apply for initial non O visa overseas money can be in any account. This visa gives you 90 days upon entry. To apply for extension of stay the money will need to be seasoned for at least 2 months in Thai bank account.

First year cannot do monthly transfer thing loads of posts about it this is a daily question
