TLDR : Answer Summary
A Thai citizen seeks advice on extending her Pakistani husband's 3-month Non-O visa, which is set to expire soon. Key recommendations include visiting a local immigration office for specific requirements, potentially attesting their foreign marriage certificate, and the possibility of obtaining a 12-month extension upon proving financial stability.

Ironically this is a group which has Thailand visa advice in the description, by your logic any question that's ever asked here, will get the same response out of you "go ask a visa officer"

Go to Immigration office and ask your questions. I do not know why people don’t go to the appropriate government agency for their questions.

because there are often amazingly long queues and they are in the arse end of nowhere

it is also my experience that the immigration officers dont know either so give out incomplete information which comes back and bites you later. Ask a good legal firm for the answers.

Why are you a member of this group if you have nothing to add. Go elsewhere FFS.

The answer I gave was very good advice. I guess if you had a serious medical condition you would ask advice on this form instead of seeing a doctor

Pak is pregnant and worried she knows she has to go to immigration but seeking others opinions from members who might have been in similar situations and then she might have some idea on the best way to approach immigration. Simple’s really - third word in the title of this forum gives it away.

You can get 12 month non o extension
Alan *******
I would suggest you visit your local Immigration Office and ask them for a list of everything you need. I did this for my first extension and it made the process very easy.

(just sharing our experience to immigration office how disappointed I'm from my government the way they treated foreigner)

I went to immigration office chaing wattana on 11 Nov after my quarantine no one told me about my husband TM 30 document ( i didn't have any idea about required document that's why i went there) but no one inform me about anything and said your husband visa is expiring in January and bring the following statements gave me list of non O visa requirement.

I prepared all document except bank account as we couldn't fullfil it as we don't have saving of
*****
0 baht to show.

Yesterday:

Outside information recommend me to do covid extension than wife visit than child visit after that if you still couldn't complete bank statement than your husband has to go out of country i said okie they gave me application form, filled and took que

After a long wait.. the inside staff told me it's already non O why do u want covid extension !

2nd document was do you have TM 30 i said i have no idea about this document

3rd they ask for criminal record and gave me letter to go to police headquarter near Siam paragon but before that ask me to get TM 30

They ask us to go to muangthong Thani register foreign residence thing I went there and the officer there were terrible

When I present the document they said why are you coming today it's being almost 3 month I told him my situation that I didn't knew about it he said you have to pay fine 800 baht I said from where am I supposed to know all the law and requirements as I'm pragnant I can't travel that much from one end of of Bangkok to another

He get up and said if you want to do it than pay if not than don't waste my time and went outside

I was sitting there confuse (what did I said wrong )

Than he came back with (sorry I went to poop )

Thats how immigration staff are

We went to police headquarter almost close by 330pm the staff were nice talk very politely and did everything for us but the results going to take a week and Totally understand but I didn't saw any requirement of criminal record on the paper they gave me.

I told them if you give 2 month extension to my husband but for the next extension as it's almost near to my due date and I was not able to come than what is your recommendation (they said no for extension of non O husband and wife should come together as you have to take a picture )

Chiang Mai? If so, yes I did. But any immigration office will help you with requirements for your husband.

Chaing Wattana yes, and you want section L-1. If your husband has over bt400,000 in his bank account since he opened it you shouldn't have any problem with him getting a type O marriage extension, but if he doesn't then you are going to have problems. Some of the documents needed can take time to get though. If you rent where you are living you will need the lease agreement with the name of the property on it, as most leases don't have that, and you will need a copy of the owners Thai ID card, and a copy of the house book he is listed in. You will also need a copy of the house book you are listed in, and a copy of your ID. You will need an official translation of your marriage documents into Thai. Those are the things that might take time to get. The other documents, and pictures, are pretty easy to do. But, if he doesn't have bt400,000 in his Thai bank account, in his name only, for at least two months before he applies, there will be serious problems, as it is required. When you go to immigration to get the list of documents, you go with him.
