FYO

I went to Surat Thani immigration today for my yearly extension of non o retirement visa..

Documents needed:

Bank statement for last 3 months (obtained today)

Bank letter (obtained today)

TM7

Photocopy of every page in passport and bank book

1 x photo

Hand drawn map of my house

Photocopy of house book

Very helpful staff who informed me if using orange savings book ( Bangkok bank) for proof of funds then bank letter and statement can be a week in advance. If using the blue current account book then the letter and statement must be obtained on the same day. Next year they want a print out from google maps of the residence with longitude and latitude and the hand drawn map plus 2 photos of the house.

I know it varies a little from office to office but hopefully this maybe useful for anyone using Surat Thani immigration.

Happy New Year to all 🙏🏼

TLDR : Answer Summary
A recent report on renewing a Non-O retirement visa at the Surat Thani immigration office outlines the necessary documents required for the extension: a bank statement from the last three months, a bank letter, TM7 form, photocopies of every page in the passport and bank book, one photo, a hand-drawn map of the residence, and a photocopy of the house book. The report mentions the difference in requirements depending on the type of bank book used and states that next year's requirements might include additional documentation like Google Maps printouts. The comments highlight variations in requirements across different immigration offices, with advice to check specific local requirements beforehand.

Every office want something different, the only way is go and ask what they want before you start putting the application together, make sure they stamp and sign the list. Make sure you take that list with you, why you go to extend.

I renewed mine in Hua Hin this week. Usually a walk in the park, but this time around they sent me away because my bank letter & statement were three days old! Went back to the bank and had them re-done and then ran over to Immigration.

Huge variation from “office to office”. Where you are, they no like farang, me I’m a huge minority. Everything is easy.

What is the orange savings book?

It's a different type of saving account with no online/ATM, still completely liquid, can withdraw at any time, but gets a little better interest rate than the blue book saving account.

In Bangkok they require at least a full year bank statement....

Bankbook needs to be updated with a transaction same day. Copy of this and bring bankbook.

they only require the full year bank statement IF you're getting a yearly extension FROM a yearly extension, not for the first year off a Non-O visa

That only requires a 3 month statement as the funds only need to be seasoned for 2 months

Thank you for your helpful report 👍

It's good you now have the one year extension of stay as retired.

Members.... please Note THIS is a report of the SURAT THANI Thai Immigration office.

What happens elsewhere may not be the same.....as you need to meet the requirements for the one year extension of stay as retired, as stated by YOUR LOCAL Thai Immigration office.
