TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around health insurance options for individuals alternating between six months in Thailand and six months in the USA. Suggestions include getting travel insurance that provides benefits like transport back to one’s home country and assistance for relatives in Thailand. Other suggestions featured Genki, a flexible plan with monthly payments and broad coverage. Additionally, a commenter mentioned that Medicare offers international coverage plans, which could be suitable for accident-related expenses.

My Medicare has a plan for international coverage. I think I’m going to make out an accident policy that’s very reasonable. I believe that should cover me across the board!!!!😘🙏

Depending on what u need/age etc take a look at Genki. Wont work for everyone but does for me! €60 odd a month and can cancel at anytime and covers pretty much the same as the big boys. I have a referral code should you need

We are truly blessed!!!!! 😊🙏

Most do not offer new health coverage after age 64.

Pacific Cross offers new policies through age 74.

Passing a very thorough medical examination is required.

The cost of all of the examinations required for me was quite expensive. It likely is based on the individual. Past history of treated hypertension and GI reflux. Pre-existing conditions not covered.

Decided to self insure. Thailand healthcare is inexpensive unless you compare it to cost in a socialist system. The care is very good to excellent. Virtually no waiting times, too. Others may have different opinions. You may be better off if you can get comprehensive travel insurance. Good luck.

Get a travelinsurance would perhaps be the best, since it ofte include transport back to the homecountry, and / or getting relatives to Thailand in serious incidents
