Good afternoon Thai visa advice members.

I am currently holding a visa non-immigrant O Thai wife, based on a work permit requirement.

I am planning to change the requirement based on the 400k in the bank.

What is the process to do so? Do I have to redo all the process again? (Including cancellation wp, etc...) or just present the money seasoned proofs to officers (CW) and it would be fine?

Thank you for advices.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently holding a non-immigrant O visa for a Thai wife based on work permit requirements and is looking to change to a visa based on having 400,000 baht in the bank. They are inquiring about the process for this change, specifically whether they need to cancel their work permit and start over or if they can simply present proof of the necessary funds.

there is no yearly extension for a thai wife based on a work permit :/ I believe you mean you're on a thai wife yearly extension based on being employed and using your salary as the proof of funds (40K baht a month)

IF you're no longer employed so be it. That doesn't affect the extension you're on now until it runs out.

You would show the 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the new extension.

All your doing
@Rodo****
is using a different proof of funds when this current yearly extension is expiring and you're applying for the next year extension.

Same copies, marriage documents, photos, maps, etc BUT instead of pay stubs, contracts, work permit and tax forms you have a bank letter and an updated bank book showing you have 400K baht in the account for 2 months before you apply.

Thank you very much for your detailed answer Tod. This means (if I understand well) that any sort of Thai wife non-O visa is valid for the year whatever happens between. Simply, I have nothing to do more and just wait for the next year/extension?

you need to make sure you have 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months BEFORE you apply for your next yearly extension

I would almost bet,
@Rodo****
that you're not on a VISA, look at the stamp in your passport it should say "extension of stay permitted until" <- that is not a visa it's an extension

LOOK in your passport and tell me if you have that stamp
