Question for my DTV holders: what are the pros and cons of having this visa? Also, not being able to have a Thai Bank account with this visa, how is this adjustment?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV visa offers several benefits, such as multiple entry into Thailand and the ability to work online. However, one notable drawback is the difficulty in obtaining a Thai bank account, which can complicate financial transactions. Many expats manage their finances with international banking solutions like Wise, and some have reported success in opening Thai accounts with persistence.
If you are under 50, not married to a Thai national and don't have any dependent children the DTV is a great option if you want to spend extended periods in Thailand.
With regards to bank accounts without a Tha one it would make life tricky but not impossible. A bank account with low or zero foreign transaction charges is the way to go. Kasikorn Bank has introduced an app that allows you to pay in foreign currency and scan to pay. There are also plenty of reports that some people have been able to open a Thai account on a DTV. So being polite and persistent may get you a Bank Account.
I use Wise for my "banking" needs in Thailand, have no probs at all without a Thai bank account. No cons for me with a DTV as It gives me exactly what I want, multi entry into LOS and ability to work there online.
maybe I did not ask the right way. I was told you can’t get a Thai Bank with a DTV and it would very challenging having the DTV. I’m asking from people who have one, what has been your experience with the DTV and Thai Bank account. Just confused as I am
If you got a Thai bank account while on a DTV there is a danger that if you had to visit a branch for identification or any other reason there is a risk that they could close your account due to having an inappropriate visa. That's a 5 year long con.
I got one opened last year but I own a condo and so I had a Thai friend help negotiate ( argue ) with the bank. It might be blocked now as I'm not there to check at the moment.
