I need to get a re entry permit for a quick visit to KL. Can it be done at Phuket International? Or failing that Patong immigration before I go? It will be an early morning flight so I'm concerned about office opening hours at PIA if it's possible. Thanks for helping.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the possibility of obtaining a re-entry permit for Thailand for a quick visit to Kuala Lumpur. They ask if it can be done at Phuket International Airport or at Patong immigration, expressing concern over office hours given their early morning flight. Comments reveal mixed experiences, with suggestions that permits may be obtainable at Phuket International but uncertainty persists due to recent changes in regulations and historical differences with earlier procedures. The user plans to visit Patong immigration if necessary.

Thanks for the replys. As it will be an early flight I don't think I'll chance PIA immigration. So a visit to Patong immigration before is my plan.

I don't know about Phuket specifically but in every other international airport in Thailand (BKK.DMK, CNX, HDY) you can get a re-entry permit at the airport. B1200 and they take a digital photo so you don't need to bring one with you.

Yes Noel, I saw that one. However we have a new terminal and tighter rules since 2015. So I'm looking for up to date situation.

From a thread I found via Google: (2015)

"I just checked in a few hours early for an international flight and told the immigration officer at the check out area that I needed a re-entry permit and he sent me over to a small office just behind him where there were 3 or 4 immigration officers working. It took me about 15 minutes or so to complete the whole routine. No problem at all."

I'm flying on Friday 20 or Monday 23 so I will have time to go to patong/phuket if necessary..........patong immigration would be favourite if it's open/possible.

ok, thanks Jean. I'll try Patong first, if I have to go over the hill, so be it.

I've read forums and they required people to go to town Immig. takes 40 minutes to get re-entry permit stamp.. You still have 3 days to get re- entry permit in Phuket town Immig. Just to be sure you have one. :)

Remember with the holiday immigration offices aren't gonna open up until Tuesday the 17th at 8:30am. :/

I dunno if they sell re-entry permits at the Phuket Airport or not. Hopefully someone will weigh in and let you know.
