TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a Multi Tourist visa and is seeking advice on obtaining a T Tourist visa to extend their stay in Thailand for another three months after the Multi visa expires. Comments suggest that they can extend their stay by 30 days at an immigration office if they enter the country before the visa expiration date. Additionally, they are advised to apply for a T Tourist visa at a Thai consulate in a nearby country, with requirements including proof of funds, onward travel, and hotel booking.

the easiest thai consulate to get a tourist visa from is the one in Vientiane Lao (which is a totally land locked country so no beach).

If you want to go to a thai consulate where there is a beach be prepared to show proof of 20K baht in a bank account, proof of onward travel and proof of a hotel booking for at least 3 to 5 days.

Thank you Tod, very helpful

Zerk the thai consulate in Vientiane does not require any of the 3-proof-ofz (funds, onward travel, hotel booking), just the application, and the money.

onward travel back to uk on into Thailand?

After that you can go to a thai consulate in a nearby country and get a single entry tourist visa

as long as you enter the country on or before the "enter before" date on the VISA itself you'll be stamped in for 60 days and you can extend that by 30 more at the immigration office.

Yes i understand that with the multi visa, just wondered if anyone had been able to get a T visa right after the multi is void, i would go on a holiday in neighbouring country for a week or so to apply.
