Hi friends,

short version: Are there any negative repercussions of doing a second SETV extension (i.e., 7 days)? Like an additional warning stamp, potential issues when coming back in a few months....?

Background: I was hospitalized for 5 days plus wasn't allowed to go in water for a couple of days. All that was still within my current permit of stay, but I'd like to make up for those lost days...

As always, thanks for all the great advice!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the implications of applying for a second 7-day extension of a Thailand Special Tourist Visa (SETV) after already receiving a 30-day extension. Concerns include potential negative repercussions such as receiving an additional warning stamp and facing possible issues on future re-entry to the country. Participants mention that one can apply for a regular extension and ask for 7 or 30 days, noting the high cost for minimal additional time. Overall, the response suggests that while the extension is costly, it may not significantly impact future travels.

PS: Do I actually apply for a "denied extension", or just a regular one and I write in 7 (or 30) days?

Same TM.7 application form

you apply, they see you already had a 30 day extension and the only thing they can give you is that extension denied stamp for 1900baht.

Yup, I already got one 30 day extension. I agree it's a lot, especially compared to the 30 day extension which costs the same. So the time I'm buying is essentially 4 times more expensive. But I'm willing to accept it if helps me to not just "hang out" a bit longer but also get a few things done that I otherwise wouldn't have the time for.

Keep in mind you can get ONE 30 day extension on a 30 day visa exempt entry or a 60 day tourist visa entry and then IF you go to the immigration office you get an "application for extension denied" 7 day stamp to get out of thailand for 1900baht.

It's not gonna hurt you in the future but it's sure a LOT to pay for just another week.
