Are there any issues with getting a 7-day extension before traveling for a 30-day visa exemption in Thailand?

Tomorrow I will get my extension of stay based on work cancelled in Phuket, as well as my work permit. I plan to get a 7 day extension. On the 7th day I will fly to KL and fly back to Phuket the following day on a 30 day visa exempt. Any problems with this? I'm a South African.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to obtain a 7-day extension based on their work cancellation in Phuket, followed by a trip to Kuala Lumpur, returning with a 30-day visa exemption. Comments suggest confirming with Thai Immigration to ensure re-entry is permitted and having a backup plan in case of issues.

you can ask tomorrow at the Immigration Office. Just tell you need more time to clear your house, car etc and 7 days is to short, tell your plan to fly up and down for a new 30 day Visa Exempt Entry. Maybe they can help you with a letter or give you a contact number just in case.

But it may be wise to have a Plan B if they do deny entry.

Sounds fine IF Phuket Thai Immigration allow you to reenter with your history.
