 thanks, I see there are not trains per se starting in Phuket, what is the best way to travel to Chiang Mai from Phuket? what is the closest train line stop by Phuket to perhaps get there and from there in train to Chiang Mai?

 There's no trains on Phuket, so you need to go to the mainland.
