Is the 'Test and Go' program operational in Chiang Mai for international travelers?

I searched around, but couldn't find anything on this.

We have someone moving to Chiang Mai from the UK in the coming weeks.

Does anyone know if "Test and Go" is operational in Chiang Mai yet? I believe it's technically on the list, but don't know if testing will be at the airport (like Phuket) or hotels (like BKK). Or if there are any SHA+/AQ hotels that meet the Test and Go requirements.

I'm wondering if her best option will be to route just T&G in BKK or HKT

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the operational status of the 'Test and Go' program in Chiang Mai for an incoming traveler from the UK. Responses indicate that currently, there are no international flights into Chiang Mai, making Bangkok the recommended entry point for the 'Test and Go' program. Suggestions include flying to Bangkok, completing the testing there, and then traveling to Chiang Mai on a domestic flight the next day. The situation may change, as international flights have been tentatively started. However, recent reports suggest a possible local lockdown in Chiang Mai.

I will start and say sorry for my bad English.

I arrived in Thailand, Bangkok two days ago from Sweden, (connected in Dubai).

When we landed in Bangkok, just outside the airplane it was people with signs say “connecting flights to Chiang Mai this way”, so I guess it should be possible with test and go in CM in some way 😊

Thanks for the update! I think she's decided to do T&G in Bangkok, but that's definitely promising for the future

At this time there’s no international flights in to Chiang Mai (bar private charters) so no not yet. Book a flight to Bangkok, do the test and go there and fly the next day on a domestic flight.

Yes, T&G Bangkok and then fly to CNX in a day or 2.

If you're vaccinated, you typically don't need a test to fly (just show your card).

If you're not vaxxed, usually an antigen test will do. Check requirements of your destination and airline before flying.

Yep, leaning towards this. I'll probably advise her to try to book on a single itinerary with an extended layover in BKK (if Thailand Pass allows it). Otherwise, she'll have to book all her luggage on a separate domestic flight where the cost can rack up quickly.

Might look at luggage transfer from say Bangkok hotel to Chiang Mai. Kerry or the like. Take essentials for first few days. Kerry deliver next couple of days

Cheaper than domestic flight charges plus no hassle to get to airport with luggage themself. Door to door

They did just have a group come in from Korea (I think?) with much fanfare, so didn't know if that was widespread or more of a PR test run

If you can get a direct flight to Chiangmai you have a chance

Not at the moment latest update was today, any new changes will be 1st December so Bangkok is your best plan at the moment

@Michael *******

Thanks in advance

I dont know when arriving but yesterdays announcement which was first one i ever listened to (new car havent worked out how to use radio yet)

They mentioned possibly doing antigen test on arrival. This gives instant results so guess no need for one night in hotel. Whether or not that will happen December 1st dont know yet.
