Hello! My family of 4 (New Zealand passport, UK passport, Hong Kong passport and Philippines passport) entered Thailand on a 60 day tourist visa that we got in Hong Kong, our country of residence, prior to arriving. We entered on 14 March and our visas expire around mid May. We would like to extend our stay in Thailand to mid June. What are our options for doing so? I have read on this FB page that a 30 day tourist extension or a 60 day covid extension might be possible? Do these options apply equally to the various passports we are travelling on?

Thanks so much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A family of four holding different passports (New Zealand, UK, Hong Kong, and Philippines) who entered Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa seeks to extend their stay to mid-June. They want to know if they can obtain a 30-day extension or a 60-day COVID extension and whether these options apply to all passports. It's noted that they can apply for a 30-day extension at most immigration offices if they have 30 days or less left on their current visas. The 30-day extension costs 1900 baht, and it's suggested to apply for the 30-day extension before a potential 60-day COVID extension.

Seeing as you all entered on 60 day tourist visas you can all go apply for a 30 day extension at most offices when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamps.

The extensions are 1900baht

As a rule you have to take the 30 day 'regular' extension before you apply for the 60 day covid one , but ask your immigration office when you're there just to see.

thank you so much for the lightening fast reply. Will the extension start from the day I go to the immigration office at Phuket town or from the day our 60 day visas expire?

Hi
@Tod ********
a follow up question I hope you might be able to help with - I understand I need to provide a TM30 for my family’s visa extension. I am staying in a villa and the manager has sent me a TM30 in Thai which shows I’ve rented the place until 4 May. I’ll be extending my stay from mid May for 30 days. Will this TM30 be sufficient for our extension or do I need a new one that covers the period I am extending my visa for? Thanks in advance!

doesn't matter what the 'check out date' is on the TM30, you're fine, it just registers you are there, they don't care about the check out date at all
