TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is a UK passport holder traveling with a family of five on a tourist visa, having already taken a 30-day extension. They are seeking clarification on further extension options, mentioning conflicting information about border runs and limitations on additional 30-day extensions. They also note that they cannot transition to an education visa due to their children's homeschooling situation.

You don't get any extension at the border, how long are you planning to stay inside of Thailand?

There is a direct flight on Air Asia now from Hua Hin to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia which has a Thai consulate you could apply for a new visa. That is probably the easiest from there. Note their requirements/checklist on the embassy website for a visa which include proof of flights.

I have no idea, there are way to many tour sellers all over Thailand.

aaahh ok that makes more sense to me now!!! many thanks...very helpful :-) any advice or suggestions who to use for visa run to Loas...we are in Hua hin just now :-)

Thai Consulates in surrounding countries are counting the amount of Tourist Visa in the passport. If they think you are living inside Thailand using tourist visa they give you a warning a stamp, meaning next time no visa. Best is to visit different Thai consulates in different countries. Official there is no limit on how many you can use, but a Tourist Visa is not ment to be used for people living inside Thailand.

Yes, it would be a new Tourist Visa for 60 days and extension of stay with 30 days or but I don't think you or your partner are older than 50 years the Non Immigrant O visa.

we plan to stay for as long as possible...as long as funds and visas allow i guess :-) so would it be a whole new tourist visa then.....a 90 day one??
