Hi
I've got a catch 22 situation. Does anyone have a link to an official government document with the Thai visa amnesty rules?
We are applying for a UK visa for my wife who's Thai visa has expired and she is now in Thailand on the visa amenesty. The UK visa requires a valid Thai visa or letter from immigration explaining that you are in Thailand legally.
Today my wife went to immigration to try and get a letter explaining she's in Thailand legally under the visa amnesty as her visa has expired but they wouldn't supply it because her visa has expired. If it hadn't expired we wouldn't need the letter.
I'm hoping an official document with the rules of the amnesty will satisfy the UK visa requirements.
TIA
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is looking for an official document detailing the Thai visa amnesty rules, as their wife's visa has expired while applying for a UK visa. They encountered difficulty obtaining a letter from Thai immigration to confirm her legal status under the amnesty.
