Looking to ask questions about guardianship visa. I’m part way through the process, which I thought would be over by now and wonder what’s left to do. Anyway I’d be grateful if someone in the know could pm me or point me in a good direction. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the completion process for a guardianship visa and is seeking guidance on what steps remain. Community members suggest confirming the type of visa applied for (Non-Immigrant Type O) and provide advice on necessary documentation for extensions, including financial requirements and supporting documents.

Nicola, so you have the visa and would be applying for a yearly extension based on raising foreign children on ED visas in thailand.

That requires 500K baht in the bank for 30 days before you apply, the birth certificates, etc.

Definitely go to the immigration office in your area, they should have a hand out that states all the documentation which is required to get the yearly extension

I'd say don't trust the school and instead go to your local immigration office and see if they have a hand out of the required documentation needed for the extension you want.

Hi Tod one last question. Looking at the attachment you posted I wonder if you would know, we have birth certificates but School advised they need to be notarized in issuing country. How firm on that do you think visa office is? I’m really hoping the birth certs (printed in English) are enough and don’t have to spend more money on reissue/notarize and courier around the world

Thanks Tod

Let's see if I can't help you some or get you pointed in the correct direction. What was the reason you applied for the Non-Immigrant Type O visa based on a dependent? Supporting a half thai child, supporting a foreign child, based on marriage to another foreigner legally working here?

Hey Tod my children are on ed visas. My husband works in Yangon and we are based in CM. Just got the single visa stamp in passports. I want to know what I need to change to multiple.

@Robert ******
thank you so much

No, just go to your local Immigration Office and ask what kind of papers you need for Extension of Stay. They will give you a list of documents you need,

is it too much to hope for that there is someone at visa office that can discuss and explain this further?

Okay, only a Single Entree, you can apply 30 days before the Admitted to Stay date for 1 year Extension of Stay at local Immigration Office. If you get this Extension you have to directly apply for a Single or Multiple re-entry permit so you can travel in and out and keep this Extension alive.

It’s single Robert. We want multiple.

You applied for a Visa, I guess as you say you have 90 stamp in passport you mean you entered Thailand and got a 90 day Admitted to stay in Thailand. What kind of Visa did you get, a Single Entry Non Immigrant of a Multiple Entry Non Immigrant. If you look at the visa under entries there will be the letter S for SIngle or M for Multiple

We wanted multiple but have been told can only get single and have to apply within Thailand for multiple

We left Thailand to apply for visas. Now have 90 stamp in passport. What’s next?
